PT Bank Pan Indonesia Tbk is one of the first Indonesia-based commercial banks listed on the then Jakarta Stock Exchange. The bank was established following the merger of three pivate banks: PT Bank Industri dan Dagang Indonesia, PT Bank Kemakmuran and PT Industi Djaja Indonesia. In 1972 the bank was granted a license to operate in the foreign exchange transaction. The bank is supported by more than 240 branch offices, one overseas office in Cayman Islands and one representative office in Singapore. In brief, the bank is engaged in the banking, financing, insurance and securities activities. Its subsidiaries include PT Bank Harfa, PT Verena Oto Finance Tbk, PT Clipan Finance Indonesia Tbk, PT Bank Panin Syariah, and PT Asuransi Multi Artha Guna Tbk. By the first quarter of 2013, the bank employed over 6,900 people.
