Company Overview

PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persero) Tbk is a state-owned gas and energy company. The company was established in 1859 as LI Enthoven & Co. From 1863 to 1950, it was known  as  N.V.  Nederlandsch  Indische  Gas  Maatschapij  (N.V.  NIGM).  From  1950  till 1958  the  company  was  known  as  N.V.  Overzeese  Gas  en  Electriciteit  Maatschappij (N.V. OGEM). PGN operates a natural gas distribution pipeline network stretching more than 3,814 km, supplying natural gas to power plants, industry, commercial businesses, including restaurants, hotels and hospitals, and households, in some the country’s most densely  populated  areas.  In  addition,  PT  Transportasi  Gas  Indonesia,  a  subsidiary  of PGN, manages the natural gas transmission business between Grissik-Duri and GrissikSingapore.   Until  now  the  company  is  supported  by  six  subsidiaries:  PT  Transportasi Gas Indonesia, PGN Euro Finance 2003 Limited, PT PGAS Telekomunikasi Nusantara, PT Gas Solution, PT Saka Energi Indonesia and PT Gas Energi Indonesia. By the end of 2012, the company employed over 1,920 people.
